March 2002 - Simon Mo (Hengrove Ath 1 V Banwell 0) -

Mo gets the vote, following his two only performances for the first team - Easter Friday away to Watchet then the next day against Banwell at home. Mo went down, so say injured more times in these two matches than any other player, including sicknote, throughout the course of the whole season...it finally ended when he twisted his own knee - putting him out for the rest of the season - so say!!!! - watch this space!!

December 2001 - Gary Markovich (Hengrove Ath 1 V Watchet Town 1) -

2 minutes left on the clock, with the game equally poised at 1-1 - Markovich races clear of the Watchet defence and looks certain to score a probable winner - only to stumble under his own footing and see the ball run helplessly through to the keeper, with no defender in site!!! - a real classic...

October & November 2001 - Steve Ratcliffe (sicknote) -

You name it, Steve had it, from grazed knee to twisted ankle - this young dynamic 16 year old was constantly moaning about injuries and didn't complete a full 90 minutes for several matches!!!

September 2001 - Ricky Gray (Hengrove Ath 1 V Oldland Abbts 1) -

The Grove were leading 1-0 at the time - when Gray was found unmarked on the backpost - 2 yards out and with the goal at his mercy, Ricky somehow headed the ball straight at the keeper who was stood on the front post!!! - a treasured gem...if only for Gray's strop at being named Fanny of the Match afterwards...
